Augusto Fernandez says a return to Moto2 was never discussed after being confirmed at the GASGAS Tech 3 KTM team for a second consecutive MotoGP campaign.
Fernandez and Acosta have been confirmed as riders for KTM in MotoGP, with Espargaro missing out on a spot. Fernandez expressed relief and happiness at the confirmation, stating that he feels they are building something great and that another year with the same team and bike is what he needed. Fernandez mentioned that there were no other offers or discussions of a step back to Moto2. Acosta, who will be Fernandez’s teammate in MotoGP, expressed his happiness and gratitude for having his future sorted out, and looks forward to learning from Fernandez in his first year in MotoGP. He also acknowledged the competitive challenge ahead in the premier class and focused on finishing the Moto2 season strongly.
